Cyberpunk 2077 pre-loads are now well underway with 24 hours to go until launch. A lot of copies have been sold if Steam’s bandwidth usage is anything to go by.
According to a post by Daniel Ahmad, Steam’s bandwidth usage hit 23.5Tbps after Cyberpunk 2077 pre-load went live. You can see the huge spike in the chart below.
Steam download bandwidth usage peaked at 23.5Tbps after Cyberpunk 2077 pre-load went live.
Nearly 3x the peak from the previous day.
This won't capture the full impact on PC as a god amount of sales will also be via GOG and Epic too. pic.twitter.com/RPo4DhyuWi

This is a massive surge in bandwidth following the game being unleashed from its cage. CD Projekt must be shifting a serious amount of copies on Valve’s platform. When you consider this is just Steam and not taking into account other platforms, or even GOG, a lot of people will be playing this tomorrow.
It will be interesting to see what Steam’s concurrent player numbers will be from tomorrow. As PCGamesN points out, the last single-player game to break the record was Fallout 4 back in 2014 with a peak of 472,962 players when it launched.
While we may never know how many gamers join Night City on day 1, we do know this is going to be a huge release.
