With the holidays now over, CD Projekt is back and they are back with a plan to sort out Cyberpunk 2077 and future updates.
In a statement from Marcin Iwinski, he explains how the game did not turn out as they had hoped at launch and the technical reasons behind it. He mentions that the PC version, although flawed in places due to bugs, was actually an OK release considering and I have to agree with that.
The other issue was the consoles and they were working to sort console issues out right up until the last moment. COVID restrictions placed real pressure on fixing those issues as developers were working from home at the time.
Next for the team is fixing the which are outlined in the timeline below. The first update will be arriving within the next ten days with a more significant update coming a few weeks after.
DLCs have been pushed back so the team has time to fix the game with patches and more details of when DLC will be released will be revealed in the months ahead. The next-gen console update will still arrive this year albeit later than originally planned in the second half of 2021.
Much of what was talked about in the video was to be expected. A delay on the DLC while the game is fixed. Console players will have to wait a little longer for that next-gen update, but it will be worth the wait because it’s a cracking game.
PC gamers have been lucky not to have experienced many of the console issues. Hopefully, now CD Projekt can make amends and make this a great experience for all gamers.
