Last night we posted that a mail had been sent to staff from Studio head Adam Badowski stating that they will be expected to crunch to get Cyberpunk 2077 out the door. This morning Adam Badowski responded explaining the situation.
Adam Badowski confirmed today that the development team will be asked to work longer hours but made sure it was known that everyone is being compensated for the work. He also points out that 10% of the annual profit goes back to the team which is certainly a solid incentive to get the game done.
Love it or loathe it, crunch time any job is not ideal but it’s often necessary to hit important deadlines. Perhaps the release date was just a little too ambitious but after two delays the studio has been backed into a corner and it’s now just a matter for getting the game done.
