Racing
There will be racing in the game but, “bring a gun because you never know what will happen”. There will be different racing locations in the game.
Summoning your Car
Players will be able to call their car by pressing the [V] key which will then pull up alongside the player. This is a similar game mechanic to Roach in the Witcher 3.
Storing your vehicles
Players can store their vehicles in their own garage space. This is really a virtual space and players can call from a list of vehicles they have purchased or been given by holding down the [V] key. Unfortunately, cars that are stolen are not yours to keep and do not appear in the garage.
Purchasing a new Car
Cyberpunk 2077 vehicles can be acquired through fixers who may alert you to a new car being available for purchase. Simply drive over to where the vehicle is located, pay for it, then drive away.
Customisation
No players’ cars should end up the same as every vehicle you buy should be “unique in every way”. This includes interior, exterior, paintwork, sound, and handling. That said, there is no direct customisation.
Johnny Silverhand’s Porsche 911 – Where to find it
Johhny Silverhand’s car in the game is a 1977 Porsche 911 making it exactly 100 years old. This tasty looking Porsche can be acquired via the Choppin’in mission and is found on the Ebunike ship by talking to Grayson and NOT killing him.
Radio
Vehicles will be equipped with a radio allowing players to flip between stations.
Stealing Vehicles
While you can steal vehicles, players will not be able to keep them. If players want to keep a vehicle, they will have to purchase it.
Vehicle Combat
The 2.0 update patch added weapons to vehicles. Players can now also shoot from inside the vehicles.
When purchasing a new vehicle, there is an icon to show whether it is equipped with a specific weapon type such missile launcher or machine gun.
Taxis / Self-driving cars
Players will be able to utilise an AI powered Uber/taxi service in the game with each ride costing the player currency. This service is provided by Delamain and there is a complete quest based around the service.
