CD Projekt has said nothing about the Cyberpunk 2077 system requirements. Specs are released a few weeks before a game’s launch. That’s not stopped one hardware outlet taking a stab at working out what you’ll need and what it will cost.
The hardware enthusiasts over at Tom’s Hardware have obviously been taking a close look at the latest footage and have attempted to work out what you’ll need. I always advise PC gamers to purchase the best hardware that you can afford. Don’t try and save pennies if it means you’re going to end up with a system less optimal for what you need it for.
Tom’s has come up with two specs, one coming in at around $1800 to build, and a less expensive system which comes in at $857. A $1000 difference between the two is quite something. Tom’s reckons that the lower specced system should be able to run the game. Their analysis is also based on performance testing of the Witcher 3. Both systems would support the much talked about ray tracing for snazzy visuals.
The price has been kept down on their lower spec system with a change to the GPU and CPU. It’s the easiest way to cut costs but it’s often a trade-off. Check out their full report.
