Despite its rocky console launch, Cyberpunk 2077 has been one of the top-selling games on Steam this year according to the Steam Best of 2020 results. This is based on gross revenue.
Every year Valve releases a list of the top 100 games on Steam as measured by Gross revenue. The top games to make the Platinum level this year included Cyberpunk 2077. Games that reached the Platinum level included the following titles.
Steam Platinum Level Games
- Fall Guys
- Doom Eternal
- Counterstrike
- DOTA 2
- GTA V
- Monster Hunter
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Cyberpunk 2077
- PUBG
- Destiny 2
- Among Us
- Rainbow Six Siege
Cyberpunk 2077 has been out for a lot less time than the rest of the titles on the list. If CD Projekt gets themselves in gear with a solid plan for DLC and patches, Cyberpunk 2077 could make a good recovery with more sales still to come.
The main issue for CD Projekt has been the console release, that’s been the real shocker for CD Projekt. PC sales will have been less affected because, although buggy in places, the game performs well on PC hardware.
It’s worth noting that this top list mainly comprises of online competitive titles or open-world games such as GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2. With Cyberpunk 2077’s multiplayer still some way off, DLC will help drive sales of the base game in the months ahead for CD Projekt. When multiplayer does arrive, and we know little about its format currently, sales could pick up again. First things first though, fix the bugs and fix the old-gen console versions.

As expected from such a hyped title , hope they will fix the issues in the next year.
